How to Make Playdough
Kids love playdough. So if you have energetic children at home and want to give them something interesting to have fun, then make some playdough for them. The process is simple and you need not spend money on things to keep your children entertained.
For making playdough at home, just roll up your sleeves and follow these simple steps. What's even better, you could ask your kids to help you make playdough. This would excite them.
You will need a cup of flour. Also keep about 2 tablespoons of regular vegetable oil ready. If you have cream of tartar, you could add 2 spoons of that to your list of ingredients for playdough. You will also need about half a cup of salt and a cup of water. Children might be tempted to eat the playdough, so add edible food coloring if you want to.
Heat the mixture of flour, cream of tartar and salt for a while. Then add oil, water and food coloring. Stir continuously over medium flame. Keep doing this until you get nice consistent mixture. It should not be too watery, nor should it be hardened too much. That is why you have to keep stirring to achieve the balance. Stop heating the mixture and let it cool for about half an hour.
Your playdough is now ready. You can knead it for sometime and then store it in a plastic cover if you want.
