How to do Magic Tricks

Magic Tricks are exciting, interesting and captivating. They are perfect for kids, friends at a party or almost any place where there is an audience. While magic tricks are designed to seem complex and sophisticated, most are quite easy to pull off with sufficient practice. Here are some tips.

What Tricks Do You Want to Do?

There are so many magic tricks available and one of the toughest decisions for amateur magicians to make is to find the right magic tricks that fit a person's interest and skill level. While it is always a good idea to start with the most basic magic tricks, you should also decide what types of magic tricks fit your personality best.

Magic tricks can include card tricks, tricks of slight of hand, tricks requiring illusion, etc. Some magic tricks will require simple props such as a coin or playing cards; others will require more sophisticated props that cost from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars or more. If you would like to learn to do magic tricks, pick out three or four simple tricks and practice them.

Learn How to Do the Magic Trick

Once you know what magic tricks you want to begin with, find a resource that will help you learn the steps to performing each of the tricks. You may find some assistance in a friend or acquaintance who is proficient with magic tricks. If not, then try a book on magic tricks. Look for resources that will also provide illustrations, as these can often help you grasp the basics much more quickly. Today, you can even find DVD's that teach you magic and there are plenty of magic sets that you can buy at a toy store or magic shop that includes all the props needed along with the instructions on how to accomplish specific magic.

Find a Quiet Place and Practice

Magic tricks are something that is best learned away from prying eyes. Find a place where you can set up your props and other necessities in peace, and begin your practice time in private. Don't assume that one successful round means you are now a master magician. Repeat each magic trick until you feel as if you could do the trick without any book or resource, and without really thinking a lot about the trick itself. Focus more on getting the procedure down before you try to add any flourishes or dramatic flair to your presentation. There is plenty of time to develop your persona after you have a firm grasp on process.

Once you feel you have perfected your magic tricks, it is now time to try it out on a small audience. You might want to start out with a couple of friends. Test your magic tricks and see if others can figure it out. If your friends are having an incredibly difficult time figuring out how you did it- it usually means that you performed the trick well. Magic tricks can amuse and amaze, depending on who does them and how complex they happen to be. With some hard work, study, and practice, you can learn how to do magic tricks effectively.
