Basic Steps to Draw People
1. Start drawing people using profile measurements.
This means that you have to know the fundamental facial measurements of a face. This includes the placement of variety of facial elements like the eyes that are located over the nose which are then placed over the mouth.
2. To begin drawing faces, it is advised that you start by drawing a lopsided egg for proper placement on paper.
Remember that the eyes are in between the head and the bottom of the chin. In addition, it is considered that the location of the eyes is the great place to base your measurements.
3. You can draw a straight line and horizontal line to mark the midpoint of the lopsided egg that will then show the upper part and lower part of the face.
4. After marking the lines, it is advised that you start on the nose instead in the eyes. You can make a nose by drawing angled lines and not straight lines. Angled lines should show the curves and length of the nose.
5. After the nose, you should focus on the lips. Lips are created by contouring two curves with slight bumps. The upper lip should be a little more protruded when compared with the bottom lip.
6. Draw a contour line from the lips to the jaw line.
7. You can now create the forehead. Always remember that eye distance from the chin is exactly the same as the eye distance from the top of the head.
8. Now create the eyes and the eyelids. The eyes are divided in three parts: eyeballs, upper lids, and lower lids.
9. Lastly, the ears should be drawn ninety degrees counter clockwise from the location of the eyes and below the chin.
